Breville Oracle Touch
When it comes to making incredible espresso machines, Breville don’t mess around. The Oracle Touch is one of their top offerings, and one of our favorite machines from the Breville range.
This is The One for coffee nerds who want a sleek and simple to operate machine. But who also want to endlessly fiddle with all the settings to get their perfect espresso shot.
It’s the level of customization that we love most about this machine. Regardless of how much espresso-making experience you’ve got under your belt, the Oracle Touch will make you feel like a barista in your own home.
The only thing we don’t love is the price. So it’s well worth snapping up whilst discounted for Prime Big Deal Days.

Philips 3200 with LatteGo
Philips have aimed to simplify coffee machines with their recent series, and the 3200 LatteGo is right in the middle of the range.
We do like having all the buttons visible so you can adjust strength and legth and run cleaning cycles easily. Maybe not the prettiest solution, but anyone can use it. Plus the grinder uses ceramic flat burrs, usually found on much more expensive machines.
We found the milk foam a little denser than you’d like. It’s also only got 5 coffee options so you won’t be dialing up exotic concoctions.
But being so simple to use and so simple to clean makes it a very attractive option. Especially when in the sale.
DeLonghi La Specialista Maestro
Ideal for those who want to get into espresso but don’t want to put in too much work.
The La Specialista Maestro is one of our favorite DeLonghi machines that we’ve tested. It straddles the gap between manual machines and automatics beautifully. Giving you the option to completely go it alone, or allow the machine to make a drink for you.
There is always some work involved with a portafilter based machine. But the gorgeous La Specialista Maestro is worth a little effort.
Gaggia Cadorna Barista Plus
Do you love your automatic espresso but want to master latte art? Well Gaggia has the machine for you. The Cadorna Barista Plus will take care of the coffee but has a professional level wand for milk.
This is no training-wheels milk wand either. Its the real deal so you can get Barista level results, with some practice.
With pretty much every variation of black coffee available at a touch, you can use the wand to make any coffee drink under the sun. The only downside is that it’s quite pricey for this limited functionality.
At the cheaper price its a much better option for those who want to unleash their creative side. Or maybe just want to have a variety of milky coffees without having to pay for a top end machine.
DeLonghi La Specialista Arte
A fantastic espresso machine with integrated grinder at around the $500 mark? This is a great deal for an entry level machine that doesn’t require a bunch of accessories.
A straight forward machine, the La Specialista Arte will grind the beans, but the rest is up to you. We enjoyed the quality of the milk wand and having the pressure gauge to properly assess our extraction.
You can really get into the weeds working on your espresso shots and you’ll soon be pro barista at home. A really good value machine at this price.
Breville Barista Touch
When it comes to a combination of good looks and great functionality, you’ll struggle to find a better machine than the Barista Touch for the price. Especially when there’s such a juicy discount available on that price!
We love that there are 8 slots to save personalized drinks to. This in in addition to the 5 pre-programmed options. So everyone can drink their coffee ‘just right’ at the touch of a button.
As it’s not fully automatic, you’ll need to put in a little work to get your cup of joe. But the effort is worth it.

Gaggia Babila
The Babila is near the top-of-the-range from Gaggia. It’s an impressive espresso machine to have in your home.
If you want total control over your espresso or coffee, this is a good option. The milk frother can also be operated automatically or manually giving you more flexibility over your capuccino or flat white.
Whilst I love the coffee quality from the Babila, it’s far from the perfect machine. I’m not a big fan of the dated display, particularly at this price. Plus, the settings are a little awkward to change.
That said, you really can’t knock the build quality and customization options.

Philips Saeco Xelsis
We’ve not had the chance yet to get our hands on this model of the Philips Saeco Xelsis (SM7685/04). It’s only recently released but it’s very high on our list and looks phenomenal.
It offers a simple, bright and intuitive touchscreen that’s one of the best in the business. From there, you can choose from 12 pre-programmed coffees (the advertised 15 includes hot water, warm milk, and frothed milk). Once you’ve perfected your drink, you can save it to 8 user profiles – way more than the competition offers.
On the downsides, we’ve seen complaints about the drip tray overfilling and scratching easily. But on an otherwise excellent machine, we’re willing to forgive.
Just watch as the Amazon listing shows the Saeco Xelsis in both silver and black with the black one being significantly cheaper. But it’s not the same machine – the black one is the previous generation so don’t get caught out.
Gaggia Magenta Prestige
We love the build quality and design of Gaggia espresso machines. The Magenta Prestige packs a really high quality espresso for such a good price.
The 10 coffee options cover all the favorites we wanted and the milk system is really really good. We love the quality of the milk foam it produces.
We did have to turn the dose up to maximum on the finest grind setting, but once we’d done that the espresso was excellent.
Gaggia machines are built to last and the Magenta Prestige has a simple design that should age beautifully. We feel that this is the best value in the Gaggia range even at full price. So a steal when you get find it discounted.
Breville Barista Express
Released in 2011, this is an old warhorse of the super-automatic espresso world. But the Breville Barista Express is still a fantastic machine for the budding barista looking to start pulling espresso shots at home.
With a little practice, we found getting great espresso from the Barista Express really easy. The built-in grinder helps to keep your setup costs down too. These things are virtually invincible with many being used for over a decade.
It may have been overtaken by the newer and more feature filled Breville machines. But we still love using the Barista Express – it’s great for anyone who wants to get into making their own espresso drinks at home.
It is often found discounted so we’d never recommend paying full price for it. All the more reason to grab one while it’s reduced.
Nespresso Vertuo Plus and Aeroccino3
The Vertuo Plus is one of our favorite single serve coffee machines. We really like the range of options Nespresso has for it and its so simple to use and clean.
It’s also very much for the space conscious, being so narrow you can slide it easily onto your counter.
This bundle includes the Aeroccino3 milk frother and some coffee capsules for less than the Vertuo Plus retails on its own!
A really great deal for one of the better Nespresso machines available plus a bunch of goodies on the side.
For more information, read our in-depth Vertuo Plus review.
Nespresso Vertuo Next
If the Vertuo Plus feels a little too extra for you, then may we humbly suggest the Vertuo Next.
Slightly smaller than the Vertuo Plus, the Next offers 4 drinks sizes; single, double, 5oz, and 8oz.
I find it less smooth to operate than the Vertuo Plus with a clunkier springloaded lid. But you get the hang of it after like 2 tries so it’s not really a problem.
A nice budget espresso machine thats small enough to fit in a dorm room or small apartment kitchen.
Braun Brew Sense 12 Cup Coffee Maker
One of our favorite 4-cup drip coffee makers is in the sale!
You can brew 1-4 cups or a full 12 cup carafe. We’re big fans of the gold tone reusable filter and the charcoal water filters for better taste.
The only downside we had with the Braun was the price. So with it discounted for Prime Big Deal Days, we think it’s one of the best drip coffee makers around.
All the features you want, great coffee, and now a great price. We love it.
Keurig K-Duo
Combination coffee makers often mean compromise. But the K-Duo does both single serve and drip coffee really well.
We’re much more into drip coffee than K-cups so spent more time tasting batches from the K-Duo and it performed really well.
K-Cups are great at what they do, anyone with a coffee divide in their house can see the huge benefit in a machine like this.
Maybe not the prettiest Keurig machine in the world, but it looks fine and works great.
AeroPress Clear
The cult classic in beautiful clear Triton (trademarked material) is the same price as the regular AeroPress.
The AeroPress makes amazing coffee really easily, and cheaply. It is best when paired with a grinder but you’ve saved so much money compared to others that this is fine.
Not entirely sure why the Clear was more expensive to begin with but now it isn’t, so hooray.
1Zpresso J-Max S
Our favorite manual coffee grinder, and the one we use almost daily, is on sale!
The 1Zpresso J-Max is incredibly accurate, durable, and easy to use.
It works for everything from Turkish coffee to Cold Brew and with 8 micron adjustments, it can even dial in espresso like a pro.
We have no issues with ours after nearly 2 years of use and we recommend it to everyone. Overall, it’s a fantastic grinder and an amazing price.
If you want to dig a little deeper, read our full 1Zpresso J-Max review, here.
OXO Brew Conical Burr Grinder
A great grinder can do so much more for your coffee quality than a great espresso machine. And the OXO Brew Conical Burr grinder is a great place to start.
It grinds with decent consistency across a wide range of sizes and performs admirably for drip coffee or pour over.
For best results, you’ll need to weigh your beans before putting them into the grinder which you’ll need a separate scale for. But that’s not a huge task.
It won’t do extreme precision espresso grinding nor is it great for French press. But you shouldn’t expect that for this price. It works well, it’s relatively quiet, and it’s built to last. We think it’s an excellent first grinder or upgrade from a blade grinder.
If you want to dig a little deeper, read our full OXO coffee grinder review, here.
Fellow Stagg EKG Kettle
A really great gooseneck kettle with lots of functions is available at a really good price.
There’s temperature control, real time temperature read out, and a built in timer. Everything you need for perfect pour over or tea brewing.
Getting a great kettle is key to better pour over so the Stagg EKG is an amazing gift for any coffee lover, even yourself.
Bodum Melior Electric Gooseneck Kettle
The Bodum Melior is a superb budget gooseneck kettle that looks great and is really comfortable to use.
We don’t need a million temperature settings, maybe you do if you’re an avid tea drinker. Getting the water to the right temperature and having great control was enough for us.
If you want more functionality from your kettle then maybe the Bodum Melior is a little basic. But for us it is perfect.
When is Prime Big Deal Days?
This year, Amazon Prime Big Deal Days will be on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th of October 2023.
The event starts at 0.01 PT on Tuesday 10th and will run for 48 hours. This discount frenzy is similar to Black Friday/ Cyber Monday weekend, Amazon Prime Day that usually falls in July, and the Big Spring Sale in March. Each of these events offer big discounts across the entirety of the Amazon store so there’s plenty of bargains to be found.
Many of the deals only show up if you are an Amazon Prime member and signed into your account. So make sure you’ve got a Prime membership or free trial, and you’re signed in before you go bargain hunting. If you click through one of our links and don’t see a discount, chances are you’re not signed in to your Amazon account.

What is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days?
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days is a two-day sales shopping event and a variation of the famous and very popular “Amazon Prime Day” that happens every July.
For the last few years, the October sales event ran as the “Prime Early Access Sale” to entice shoppers before the busy holiday sales period. So it looks like the event is here to stay but under the new name of “Amazon Prime Big Deal Days”.
Throughout the event, you’ll find a special section on Amazon.com with the Big Deal Days offers. From there, you can search by category. There are usually deals across all departments so you can go all out and fill your trolley with everything from coffee makers to gardening supplies.
In Which Countries Will Prime Big Deal Days Take Place?
Prime Big Deal Days will take place in 19 countries: the US, the UK, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, and Sweden.
This is up from 15 countries that had Amazon Prime Day sales this year.
How can you get a “Lightning Deal”?
Lightning deals are time-limited deals that happen during Amazon Prime sales events so we’re pretty confident they’ll run again during this year’s Big Deal Days. These are usually very big discounts that run for only a few hours. Obviously the goal is to encourage you to keep checking back during the event in case something is heavily discounted.
This is where you’re sure to find the best Amazon Prime Big Deal Days coffee maker discounts but you have to be constantly checking to get them. (Or use this page to save you the hard work!) You can find them on the main Big Deal Days page or by visiting the ‘Today’s Deals’ section. You need to be ready to pull the trigger as soon as you see the deal – if you hesitate too long, it’ll be gone.
Are Prime Big Deal Days Coffee Discounts Worth It?
Each deal is different and many are there to suck you in without actually being that good a deal. This is why we dig through them all to find out which ones are actually big discounts and which are fairly common sales prices dressed up as a big deal.
The idea is they want to draw us in with large discount percentages and prey on our fear of missing the great bargain. Having such a time-limited event pushes people to impulse buy rather than digging around to find out how great the price actually is.
It can be really difficult to work out which are great marketing and which are great deals.
The best way to make sure you get a good deal is to see what other retailers are selling the product for, find the price on the manufacturers own website if you can. Then you’ll know if you’re getting a bargain
If in doubt, remember the words of my wise Mom: “It’s only a bargain if you needed it anyway.”
